Charles Blée, François’s son, expanded the business while continuing to manage it alongside his wife Hélène, even as he directed the Romanée Saint-Vivant estate. In 1966, their youngest daughter, Jacqueline, and her husband founded Domaine René Cacheux-Blée. In 2004, their son Gérald—a winemaker with eighteen years of experience gained at other wineries in the region—took over from his parents. Since then, he has been at the helm of Domaine René Cacheux & Fils.

Haute Valeur Environnementale.

The Domaine has achieved HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification by adopting a series of targeted agronomic and winemaking practices.

Vineyard management includes careful pruning, which ensures optimal grape exposure and better yield control, combined with natural aeration of the clusters to prevent rot without resorting to chemicals. The European grapevine moth is also managed sustainably by preserving natural predatory insects, while light grass cover between the rows eliminates the need for herbicides, fully respecting the local flora and fauna. This meticulous care continues during the harvest, which is carried out strictly by hand with immediate sorting of the clusters directly in the vineyard. Before being placed in open vats, the grapes undergo 100% destemming, followed by traditional vinification with constant temperature control. Finally, the cycle concludes with eighteen months of aging in oak barrels, using a percentage of new oak that varies from 10% to 50% based on the specific appellation and vintage.
